The official announcement has just been made that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has won the Permatang Pauh by-election with a majority of 15,671 votes. The results are:

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (PKR) 31,195 votes.
Datuk Arif Shah Omar Shah (BN) 15,524 votes.
Hanafi Hamat (AKIM) 92 votes.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s win will return him to the Parliament for the first time after a 13-year absence.
