Blogs and the electronic media were not the main reasons for the political tsunami of Malaysia’s recent general elections. They were merely alternative methods in which the rakyat got their news, opinions, commentaries and sometimes, ‘the other side of the story’. In the aftermath of the elections, those who had once dismissed blogs and the electronic media are now embracing them for themselves; while others are waking up to the fact that it’s time to get the job done right.
