An early morning landslide at Bukit Antarabangsa today has left 3 dead and 6 people still missing. Search and rescue operations are currently on-going 24hours a day unless the rain gets too heavy, according to Selangor Chief Police Officer Deputy Comm Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar. TheStar reports that 93 people have been rescued so far while thousands others have been evacuated from the area. They were brought to Sekolah Kebangsaan Ulu Klang where food and shelter will be provided. Head on over to TheStar’s website for images and videos. The devastating landslide occured around 4am and currently covers an area of about 10 acres, affecting not only Bukit Antarabangsa but also another 14 houses in Jalan Bukit Mewah and Jalan Mewah Utama. The landslide is located only 1.5 km from the site of the tragic Highland Towers which collapsed on 11 December 1993, killing 48 people. LEAVE A COMMENT
